Socorro Mission The Socorro Mission is part of the Mission Trail. The mission was founded in 1682 as a Franciscan ministry, but the first structure was washed away during a flood in 1829. Ysleta Mission This mission was built in 1744, and remained intact until a fire in 1907. It has since been reconstructed and is now a recognized historical building. The mission is south of El Paso on 131 Zaragosa Rd. Address: 131 Zaragosa Rd. El Paso TX USA

San Elizario Chapel The San Elizario Chapel is one of the stops on the El Paso Mission Trail. This church was re-built around 1830 after being swept away by a flood. The Mission Trail is one of the oldest trails in the USA. The trail is 400 years old. There are three missions along the way, one of which is Texas' oldest building. The trail connects the churches of Ysleta, Socorro and San Elizario together. |
